About this grant

Competitive ARC grants for projects that diversify the economies of coal-affected Appalachian communities, such as workforce training, entrepreneurship, infrastructure and industry development. A letter of intent is required before the full application. ARC's share depends on each county's economic status: up to 80% in distressed counties (20% match), 70% in at-risk (30% match), 50% in transitional (50% match) and 30% in competitive counties (70% match); projects in attainment counties usually are not eligible.
