What it pays for
The goal of the National Fire Academy (NFA) State Fire Training Grants (SFTG) is to enhance public safety and reduce burden that results from fire through promotion of professional development for the fire and emergency response community and its allied professionals and support state and local organizations in fulfilling their obligation to career and volunteer fire and emergency services (FEMS). The objectives of the SFTSG are to:
� Develop, deliver, and manage educational and training programs having a national focus that are outside state and local training missions or that exceed state and local capabilities because of cost or audience.
� Establish a safer FEMS community through training that results in fewer fire and emergency service-related deaths for first responders and the public.
� Build understanding and application of fire reduction and response strategies.
� Fill training gaps that are outside state and local training missions or that exceed State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT) capabilities.
How applications are judged
Information for selection proposal for the SFTSG is provided in the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).

2. Locate the NOFO on Grants.gov for stipulations, criteria, directions and general information.
3. Access FEMA GO: Log in to the FEMA GO platform using your credentials. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one.
4. Locate the Grant Opportunity: Navigate to the grant opportunities section and find the SFTSG.
5. Review Requirements: Carefully read the grant guidelines, requirements, and instructions provided.
6. Prepare Documentation: Gather and prepare all necessary documents, including, Budget Plan of Work Plan and Any other supporting documents as specified in the grant guidelines
7. Complete Application Forms: Fill out the required application forms on the FEMA GO platform. Ensure all information is accurate and complete.
8. Upload Documents: Upload the prepared documents (Budget Plan, Work Plan, and other supporting documents) to the application.
9. Review and Submit: Review your application thoroughly to ensure all information and documents are correct. Make any necessary revisions.
10. Submit Application: Once you are confident that your application is complete and accurate, submit it through the FEMA GO platform.
