What it pays for
To assist students who are engaged, or whose immediate family is engaged, in migrant and other seasonal farm-work to obtain the equivalent of a secondary school diploma and subsequently to gain employment or be placed in an institution of higher education or other postsecondary education or training.
Who can apply
Institutions of higher education or private nonprofit agencies in cooperation with institutions of higher education may apply.
How applications are judged
The Department publishes criteria in a notice inviting applications published in the Federal Register. For the purpose of making grants under the program, the Secretary must consider prior experience of service delivery by expiring projects that submit an application under this program and award up to a maximum of 15 additional points to an application that demonstrates the prior experience of service delivery.
