Goal: Reduce impact of substance use on individuals and communities Reduce the impact of opioids, stimulants and other substances on individuals and communities, including a reduction in the number of overdose fatalities, as well as mitigate the impacts on crime victims by supporting comprehensive, collaborative initiatives. Reduce the morbidity and mortality of substance use, increase access to services, and support law enforcement activities to address illicit substance distribution. Program objective description: Increase access to and receipt of prevention, treatment, and recovery support services for individuals with substance use disorder in the community, in correctional settings, and upon reentry; reduce overdose deaths; and support law enforcement-related efforts, including locating or investigating illicit activities related to the unlawful distribution of opioids to promote public safety.
