Goal: Develop evidence to improve policies and practices across the justice system. Build knowledge and tools that can be applied at the state and local levels to reduce crime and advance justice. Strengthen research to inform crime reduction and advance justice. Support rigorous research and evaluation that helps identify and analyze the causes and correlates of crime; improves the functioning and outcomes of the criminal and juvenile justice systems; develops new and improved methods for the prevention and reduction of crime; and strengthens the justice research and practice infrastructure.
