What it pays for

Goal: Provide support to veterans with substance use disorders involved in the justice system. Ensure access to services for all eligible veterans seeking to gain access to the VTC program; Help veterans in the VTC program with substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders to gain access to treatment and recovery support services; and Reduce recidivism and improve VTC success rates. Provide support to veterans enrolled in the VTC program. Increase the number of potential participants identified and screened (i.e., determine eligibility) and assessed (i.e., identity criminogenic risk, substance use or mental health conditions); Administer mandatory and random drug and alcohol testing of program participants to help monitor substance use and treatment progress over the project period; Increase access to substance use and mental health treatment, as well as recovery support services; Improve graduation rates for all treatment court participants; Reduce recidivism rates; and Collect and track data for individuals who qualify and disqualify for the VTC program.
