Farmers Market Promotion Program Fiscal Year 2026

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), requests applications for the 2026 fiscal year (FY) Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP). FMPP"s purpose is to support the development, coordination, and expansion of direct producer-to-consumer markets to increase access to and availability of locally and regionally produced agricultural products.

Criteria for selecting proposals are within guidelines established for the program as described in the RFA. The most current RFA is available via Grants.gov or www.ams.usda.gov/grants.

Cost share cannot come from an unallowable expense or other federal funding.

Fiscal year 2025: A FMPP �Community Development Training and Technical Assistant (CTA)� project recipient completed its activities in 2025. This project expanded an online platform, to increase market access, digital proficiency, and sales for small to mid-sized farms across the state to support the local economy and food systems. This included training producers on how to effectively use the platform to increase customer interaction and sales. During the grant period, product availability increased by 419 listings, an increase of 114% from the baseline of 363 listings on the platform. In addition, the recipient reported 32% increase in customer purchases with consumers stating improved tools on the platform aided in purchases. A LFPP �Implementation� recipient completed its activities in 2025. A USDA-certified organic farm and regional food hub expanded its aggregation, storage, and distribution capacity to strengthen the supply chain for locally produced foods across the state.
