- Scholarship applicants are required to submit to the foundation an unsolicited letter of recommendation from a faculty member at arlington high school, in arlington, massachusetts. The letter must provide a descriptive explanation of why the applicant is likely to carry out the marky g pledge if and when the opportunity presents itself. The letter must be expressly endorsed by two additional faculty members.

- Qualified scholarship/grant applicants shall be either continuing to higher education, undertaking formal vocational training or entering the armed services, and include but are not limited to: - recovering addicts seeking placement in rehabilitation or post rehabilitation program living arrangements, vehicle allowance, or other recovery related necessity; - high school or college graduates seeking additional studies in addiction related subject. - high school graduates requiring financial aid due to the consequences of family addiction.
