Limits
The foundation maintains a scholarship program to provide financial assistance to certain children of the employees of whirlpool corporation. Scholarship funds will normally be payable at a maximum rate of $7,500 per year. However, adjustments appropriate to the situation may be made upon approval by whirlpool foundation. The following procedures are in place (1) the foundation continues to prohibit grants to children of the foundation manager or the selection committee, (2) the selection committee is comprised of three outside members of the local community that are not in any way associated with whirlpool or the foundation, other than by reason of being a member of the committee, and (3) the number of grants awarded under the program to such children do not exceed 25 percent of the number of employees' children who, (i) were eligible, (ii) were applicants for such grants, and (iii) were considered by the selection committee in selecting the recipients of grants in that year.
