Your share in dollars

For a $600,000 grant you'd put in about $600,000 of your own money or donated help, for a total project of about $1,200,000.

Based on the funder's stated 50% applicant share. Some programs lower it for distressed counties or accept in-kind help. The notice has the exact rule.

Before you apply: Tennessee state agencies usually require you to be registered as a supplier in the state's Edison system before they can pay a grant. Ask the program contact, and register early. Grant-ready checklist

About this grant

Helps local governments, tribes and qualified conservation nonprofits buy privately owned forestland outright to create a community forest with public access. Tennessee applicants submit to the state forester (TDA Division of Forestry), not through Grants.gov; properties must be at least 5 acres, mostly forested and at risk of development.
