About this grant
Communities at wildfire risk that have an approved Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) can get reimbursement grants for fuel reduction, firebreaks, dry hydrants, access improvements, signage and resident education. A first mitigation grant is up to $20,000 (later years up to $10,000); education grants are up to $500. Funds are administered through the Appalachian RC&D Council.
